Installation Instructions

STEP 1 APPLY GATOR XTURF INFILL SAND

  1. Work in straight lines to ensure total coverage across the entire GATOR XTURF surface. A drop spreader with an adjustable spread rate is the best tool for creating a consistent infill layer. However, pay attention to the rows with the spreader as it will absorb into the GATOR XTURF while being dropped.

  2. Use a shovel to fill the edges and corners of your GATOR XTURF. Consistent speed and quantity throughout is key. The smoother you spread it, the smoother your final surface will feel underfoot. Apply your infill material in a thin layer each time.

  3. GATOR XTURF INFILL SAND GATOR BEIGE is the primary infill ingredient for the first layer of infill. The beige color makes it a natural choice. For pet playgrounds, GATOR XTURF INFILL SAND GATOR ZEO-WHITE is generally considered the best topping infill to use to help eliminate and minimize odor. GATOR XTURF INFILL SAND GATOR ZEO-WHITE is also very porous, which helps to keep your GATOR XTURF cooler in direct sunlight compared to rubber infill options. Artificial turf systems with blade (pile) height from 1 to 2″. Quantity suggested varying from 1.5-3 lb/ft2 (7.3-14.6 kg/m2).

N.B. Make sure the GATOR XP glue is set for 3 to 4 hours before brooming.

STEP 2 BROOM THE GATOR XTURF

  1. To get your infill layer to drop completely, you will need to brush the GATOR XTURF blades back with the help of a stiff bristle broom, turf rake or Power Broom. Never use a metal leaf rake, as it may damage the artificial turf blades. Keep firm pressure and walk backwards slowly as you work the infill deep into the GATOR XTURF. Work in rows and overlap your passes. It is also recommended to brush north-south and east-west to ensure that all GATOR XTURF INFILL SAND GATOR BEIGE is no longer visible and that all the blades are standing vertically.

  2. To complete the project, blow out any remaining GATOR XTURF INFILL SAND GATOR BEIGE and/or cut blades left on the surface using a leaf blower.

N.B. After brooming and blowing, lightly mist with water to remove static. This will also help the GATOR XTURF INFILL SAND GATOR BEIGE to drop in place and keep the blades upright.
